We offer a dual-luciferase reporter assay service, widely used for promoter/enhancer activity analysis, verification of transcription factor-cis-element binding, and verification of miRNA targeting of a gene's 3'UTR.
When you want to know whether a promoter/UTR sequence actually has transcriptional regulatory activity, or whether a miRNA truly targets a given gene, the dual-luciferase assay is the most direct way to verify function.
The system includes two reporter genes: firefly luciferase and Renilla luciferase. The target regulatory element (such as a promoter or 3'UTR) is cloned upstream of firefly luciferase, and Renilla luciferase is co-transfected as an internal control. Measuring the ratio of the two luminescence values (firefly/Renilla) corrects for differences in transfection efficiency, quantitatively reflecting the transcriptional regulatory activity of the target element.
Promoter functional analysis, transcription factor target gene verification, miRNA-target gene verification, signaling pathway activation detection, etc.
